How Title Case works here

Every word starts with a capital letter, except short articles, conjunctions and prepositions such as “a”, “and”, “of”, “the” and “to”. Those stay lowercase unless they are the first or last word of a line or follow a colon. Words that are already all capitals, such as NASA, are kept as they are.

Style guides (AP, Chicago, APA, MLA) have slightly different Title Case rules, especially for longer prepositions. Check your guide for formal publishing.

How Sentence case works here

All text is made lowercase, then the first letter of each sentence and of each new line is capitalized, along with the word “I”. Names and acronyms become lowercase too, so check them afterwards.

How to use it

  1. Paste or type your text, or open a file.
  2. Click the case you want. The text is converted in place.
  3. Click Undo to go back, or Copy to copy the result.
